Caledonia, Mich.– Viking Group, a global leader in fire protection and life safety solutions, is proud to introduce the EA-1 Electronic Accelerator, an FM Approved and UL Listed innovation designed to augment the performance of Viking dry and preaction systems for both new installations and retrofit applications.
The EA-1 Electronic Accelerator(opens in a new window) is engineered for faster, more dependable system activation, reducing response times to under four seconds. By sampling air or nitrogen pressure twice per second using an advanced internal pressure transducer, the EA-1 detects pressure drops exceeding 0.1 PSI per second with exceptional accuracy, ensuring rapid operation when needed most. The EA-1 also functions as an air supervisory switch, eliminating the need for a separate component and simplifying system design.
"The EA-1 Electronic Accelerator is the intelligent choice for enhancing fire protection performance," said Martin Workman, Sr. Vice President – Product Experience. "Faster activation times, precision monitoring, and seamless integration allows customers to more easily achieve the highest standards of safety and efficiency."
The EA-1 is approved for use with Viking Model VXD(opens in a new window) and Model F Deluge Valves(opens in a new window) for Double Interlock Preaction Systems with electric/pneu-lectric release, and is compatible with Viking Model VXR(opens in a new window) and Model F Dry Valves(opens in a new window). It seamlessly integrates with the VFR-500 Release Control Panel(opens in a new window), which can monitor up to four dry pipe systems or two preaction systems. A solenoid valve is required for installation. Additionally, built-in low- and high-pressure supervisory alarms provide enhanced system monitoring and protection.
