This course explores the operation and components of fixed foam solutions and fire protection systems. This applications-driven program covers a wide variety of topics including introduction to foam, foam concentrates, system types, foam system components and commissioning systems. 

 

Learning Outcomes

  • Identify the need for a foam fire protection system in accordance with applicable codes. 
  • Identify various types of foam systems. 
  • Identify and describe the operation of the components of foam systems. 
  • Differentiate between the various types of foam concentrates. 
  • Describe the design of a foam fire protection system. 
  • Describe the recommended installation practices. 
  • Describe the process for all inspection, testing and maintenance of foam fire protecton systems. 

Sprinklers, Systems & Fire Protection Solutions

This course focuses on how sprinklers and systems provide unique and targeted solutions to fire protection challenges. This applications-driven program utilizes digital tools and hands-on experiences to explore the advantages of various Viking products and how they address specific challenges. 

 

Learning Outcomes

  • Describe how fire develops and the impact of fuel loads, fuel arrangement, and location. 
  • Utilize digital tools to select the appropriate sprinkler to protect the occupancy or fire challenge. 
  • Compare various sprinklers and explain how they address fire challenges. 
  • Explain the applications of wet and dry sprinkler systems. 
  • Explain the applications of pre-action and deluge sprinkler systems. 
  • Perform system testing and troubleshooting.

This training course explores an environmentally sustainable solution that protects damage-sensitive equipment, applications and products from fire and from secondary damage. 

 

Learning Outcomes

  • Identify safety concerns, toxicity and terms in NFPA 2001.
  • Describe the equipment for both nitrogen & argon systems, including racks and manifolds. 
  • Discuss the 200 bar and 300 bar Oxeo System pressures. 
  • Review applications for nitrogen Class A, B & C fuels and argon Class D fuels. 
  • Discuss how to use the vInert software for nitrogen and argon gas systems.
